This is a memory post.

I want to write about the memory of Taco Bell.

Seven layer burrito (“supreme” made it get sour cream), extra guacamole, with mild salsa. Orange soda. My go-to order for years. (UNTIL THEY TOOK IT OFF MENU BUT I THINK IT’S STILL ON THE MENU IF YOU ASK FOR IT)

I loved biting into that thing and tasting the rice and finding the guac. It was kind of an acidic guac. Chopped tomatoes mixed in. Perfect for staring out of a car window, as a child.

I still think about those burritos sometimes. I also think about Taco Supremes.

Once, right after I had a baby but before my allergies went nuts, I drove through Taco Bell in a bit of a feverish, fiendish obsession. I HAD to have a Taco Supreme. I HAD to.

And so there I sat, in the parking lot, tiny shredded bits of lettuce and… “cheese” landing here and there, devouring what tasted… pretty good. And made me feel absolutely awful.

And I might have left in pain, or the pain might have hit later, I can’t remember.

And it was so sad.

but there is no amount of pain that can stop my craving for that sour cream! and crunchy meat! and

Do you remember their taco salads?? Back before they made them into tiny little echoes of their former glory?

Back when a taco salad was a HONKING taco salad and took up your whole lap?

those were good taco salads.

also their tostadas were super good. but I liked to fold them in half like a pizza/ a taco bc how else are you supposed to get them in ur mouth
